Are Dote walkers background checked? +
Every walker completes an identity check and a criminal background check through a third-party screening provider before they can accept their first walk, with periodic re-screening afterward. You can see each walker's verification status on their profile.
Can I track my dog's walk in real time? +
Yes. Every walk is tracked live on a map from the moment your walker arrives until your dog is back home, and you'll get a photo from the walk plus a short recap when it's done.
Where is Dote available? +
You can sign up today as a dog owner or a walker. Dote is growing city by city across the United States, starting with New York City, so how many walkers are available near you depends on your area. We add a new area only once we're confident our trust and safety standards hold there.
How does Dote work? +
Request a walk, and the first background-checked walker nearby to accept is assigned to it. Watch the walk live on a map in the app, then get a photo and a recap when it is done. You see the price before you request.
What is Dote's cancellation policy? +
Cancelling is free before a walker is assigned to your walk. Once a walker is assigned, a 30% fee of the walk price applies, shared with the walker for their time.
